Birthday party marathon...

we started the weekend off with a party at audubon park for a little girl at church. the kids had lots of fun...and avoided all things dangerous including elijah climbing up the metal ladder on the 5-12 year old playground, sliding down the twistly pole, and sliding with suckers. oh wait! they did all those dangerous things...well they lived to tell the tale! elijah also decided to initate a water fight with his new friend. cooper just wanted to spary the sign, and elijah just wanted to spray cooper! luckily for cooper he can run faster than elijah!

on saturday we had back to back princess parties at city party for 5 little girls are renee's school. the first was for 3 of them. they had it at the carousel and asked everyone to dress as their favorite princess. renee can still fit into her 2T snow white dress that she wore for halloween when she was 2. snow white was actually a popluar princess along with tinerbell, who is not even a princess! but i have to say we had the cutest snow white dress! they also had a lady paiting faces! the girls had so much fun! the carousel is actually inside its own little round building, so they all ran around inside, rode the carousel, and had their faces painted!

renee and catherine...renee playing with the glitter on her wings while they were waiting in line to have their face painted. why is glitter so facinating? then sloane, renee and madeline on the carousel bench.

renee sat very still while the lady painted her face...she knew right away that she wanted her face to be a butterfly! she was VERY pleased with the result! and she even put glitter on it! how did she know?

the second party for the other 2 girls was at storybook land in the same park...i have to say this is the best park ever! there were lots of different rides at the amusement park part, and then this part was just where you can run around and play. by this point, renee was way over pictures! she demanded that i stop, but i did manage to sneak a few...Cinderella even made an appearance at this party. although, she was kind of lame! at Dinseyworld she is much more interactive...this one could have used a little training! i was afraid that someone would tell renee she wasn't the real one, but i never heard it. hopefully, it won't get around at school tomorrow! we're going to disneyworld for new year's and that would take away so much magic!

to finish the weekend, we had one more party for a little boy at church (cooper's brother). he turned one, and dug into his cake! i don't have any cute pictures becuase i left my sd card at home. the parties were fun. the kids loved them, but i am happy to have a break from all the parties! even if it is only for a few weeks before the halloween ones start!

campaign 2008

the campaign is in full force at our house...that is for 1L SBA rep

orum is running, so that makes me the official campaign manager. since there are only 2 days of actual campaigning we pulled out all the stops...yesterday i baked, baged, and labeled 250 cookies! it was a lot of cookies! i also made a couple of t-shirts and then tonight i put labels on the candy. not to mention all the flyers...here's some of the stuff. 12 are in the running and 3 are chosen..he'd better win!

renee also got to bring "ducky" home today--she is their class mascott. each of the 3 classes have an animal mascott...duck, frog and turtle. her favorite animal as a baby was actually a duck, so that has been fun for her.
ducky probably had her best day ever! when she got to our house she was entertained the entire day! ducky, elijah, and renee played tag, princesses, and dress-up. she even got to watch the new ariel movie! renee made sure to keep her dressed and warm! she and ducky are currently sleeping in matching gowns! who knew ducky could be so much fun!? she was so excited to have ducky that she wrote a happygram for ducky to take to her teacher!

better late than never...

Mimi and Papaw celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July, and i just found the pictures on my camera...since she is obsessed with all things oriental and he just goes along with it heather and i decided to go with it. Here are a few of the details...we of course had chineese food, and the chopsticks to eat it with--although i think orum is the only one who used them, but i was prepared with 150 sets! anyone need chopsticks? each set was tied with ribbon and had a little label embossed with the gold conji for love, which also turned out to be the party logo.

erica made the awesome cake! each layer was a diffrent flavor. one for each of their favorites and the third for me! (i did plan everything!) notice the emobssed logos on the vases and the cones for the candy buffet! i think i ended up making close to 400 logos including all the ones on the invitations too...it was out of control! they are also on the tops of the takeout boxes we filled with fortune cookies for the favors...as always there are picutres that i didn't get because between the party and my crazy kids i didn't have time-this time it was of people and the actual party. well i'm sure someone did...now i just have to figure out who! happy anniversary mimi and papaw! love you! bre

these were the decorations outside...vinyl on the windows. a love symbol on the end windows and names and date on the center ones. the path was lined with the paper lanterns which actually had a light inside...unfortunatly the sun was so bright you couldn't tell. oh well...

preschool drama update--apparently brooke decided that she would play with renee again if renee showed her the kitty cat that she took for nap time, which she did...and i'm sending cookies tomorrow! so those little girls better be nice to mine! i've decided that she's determined to be friends with this little girl becuase one of her best friends at her old preschool in west monroe had the same name...i hope the drama ends soon! aren't treats supposed to fix everything at this age?

update...

so we did evacuate for gustav. we loaded the car (and orum's truck) with lots of junk and headed home...stayed a week and came back to things/life as usual. no damage, just no food in the fridge. i'm so happy that we're not having to do it all over again for ike...let's home it stays that way! it's too exhausting!

in other news...what would/should you do?

Renee came home from school today (they have been a whole 8 days since starting) and said that the two little girls that were her friends, "changed their minds and that they decided that they didn't like her anymore" WHAT! it's pre-k! i'm in shock that this is starting so early! i remember being friends with everyone until about the 2nd grade, when my friend and i decided that we just didn't like some other girl for some random reason. too bad renee isn't the one to just make her own group! i think it's becuase she's too naive. maybe these girls have older siblings...but what do you do? she doesn't want to make new friends she just wants to play with those two, who knows why!?
