update...

so we did evacuate for gustav. we loaded the car (and orum's truck) with lots of junk and headed home...stayed a week and came back to things/life as usual. no damage, just no food in the fridge. i'm so happy that we're not having to do it all over again for ike...let's home it stays that way! it's too exhausting!

in other news...what would/should you do?

Renee came home from school today (they have been a whole 8 days since starting) and said that the two little girls that were her friends, "changed their minds and that they decided that they didn't like her anymore" WHAT! it's pre-k! i'm in shock that this is starting so early! i remember being friends with everyone until about the 2nd grade, when my friend and i decided that we just didn't like some other girl for some random reason. too bad renee isn't the one to just make her own group! i think it's becuase she's too naive. maybe these girls have older siblings...but what do you do? she doesn't want to make new friends she just wants to play with those two, who knows why!?

Aww, doesn't that just break your heart as her mom?? That's a hard thing because she's so sweet and so young.

SO GLAD everything was fine upon returning from the evacuation. Let's hope for no more this season!

Glad you are safe.

That makes me sad about Renee. Being a kid is hard. I'm sure she'll make some new friends.

Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear about Renee's classmates. How sad! I can't believe they're starting so young, either, that's just craziness.

I'm glad that everything turned out ok with Gustav for you guys. I can't believe kids are already like that so young. How sad. Hopefully it was just a one day phase and today will be better for her...Poor sweet girl.

We've had the same issues with Kaitlyn at daycare. I was just as shocked as you were. It broke my heart that someone didn't want to be friends with her...I'm trying to refrain from becoming a "crazy parent" and giving those girls a talking to!

Bre, I hope you see this.
I have a friend that is going to be moving to NOLA in January. I told her about you and said you could be a good resource since you are from the south and have a daughter in school (she will too) etc.
Anyway, can I give her your e-mail? If so, what is your e-mail? And why don't I have it?
