SUPER E is IV!!

Until last month Elijah was set on a robot party. Then he decided spiderman--we settled on "Superheros" and I think it was adorable! He doesn't really know anything about spiderman, other than he's red and blue...although I'm sure those days are numbered.
The amazing invitations were made by the fabulous Jessi!!! We used my lucky shot from Halloween, and she worked her magic. I LOOOOOOVE them, so did his friends! They asked him how he knew how to fly.
I don't know why he chose to put a "C" on his cape, especially since he's obsessed with the letter E, but he was the birthday boy.
Since he is the IV, I thought it would be fun to use the roman numeral. Besides, it looks like it could be a super hero logo--more so than a 4.
I made this never ending bunting...I LOOVE it! It wrapped all the way around our area. Our party could be seen from the streetcar! {It will likely be making a lot of appearances, since I made the flags interchangeable}
Super Hero water bottles {just imagine that the label were face up}

Super Hero straws for the lemonade
{aren't the callouts adorable...find them here}
Pop Corn and a little Super
The "Super Staging area"--we had capes, masks, and bracers. The kids cut out their letters and added stars/butterflies. They were a hit!!

Of course, the boys decided that they needed to layer the masks so that they could have two colors. I have to say that I was suprised--I would expect that from the girls, not the boys!
And this little baby was happy to be free...with the wind blowing her hair and cape. I think it's safe to assume that she will no longer be content to sit in the stroller or on the bench at the park!
These two thought they were Super Cute--no layering for them. Only pink.

The cupcakes...Elijah chose green icing. Scrumptious, huh? Jessi made the SUPER cute toppers too!

{I don't think he needed the help with the candles, but he got it}
the adorable ice cream cups {and straws and cupcake liners} came from here.
The capes also doubled as bibs.

And, of course, there was a "bad guy" that needed to be taken out!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELIJAH!!!

PEEPS!

For some reason, I always feel pressure when it's time to post an event {this time it's elijah's birthday party} So for now, we'll skip it, and I'll show you what I did today while they were at school. I realized this morning that Renée was starting Easter break a day early {tomorrow} so I frantically worked on these as soon as Elijah was at school. I had them there by lunch, so a fast project I must say!

I had grand plans of listing them on etsy weeks ago, with shirts to match, of course, but that never happened. This month was overtaken by parties, birthdays, and more parties--not that I' mind :) Then today, I found this project...my peep obsession has just been reignited!!!
Elijah is once again left with candy. It's much harder for me to do cute stuff for him. I don't think the boys would appreciate hair clips:) not to mention his teacher who does not appreciate the cute stuff at all! Per her request, we had to bring wrapped candy. I think that note was solely directed at me...we did our best. He was happy.

party, party!

His first celebration was at school--brownies, cookies, party hats, and balloons! I just KNEW that his "stick-in-the-mud" teacher would LOOOVE that I sent balloons:) And was right...she did. And she LOVED the party hats even more...in fact instead of sending them home on their heads on Thursday {his party day}, she folded them in half and sent them home in their folders on Friday. The day someone else had their birthday at school. I mean seriously. Wouldn't it be easier to leave them on their heads than taking them off, folding them, and putting them in the respective folder! Who folds party hats in half!?!

i can NEVER go back...

Possibly the best part of the cruise was coming back home to a DISHWASHER!!!
As I said before, we only looked at houses here that said they had a dishwasher. This one was supposed to. We didn't notice until we moved in that it didn't, but my days of washing the dishes are OVER!! I am beyond excited. I have effortlessly kept the kitchen clean for over a week. My theory was right...a dishwasher would change everything!

The children are pretty impressed too. When I opened the door after the first load, Renée said,"wow! All those are clean!?" Why, yes they are :)

happy birthday (aunt) heather!

You're my best sister ever! My very favorite one. Happy birthday!!
{you should get in more pictures, so I don't have to use ones from my phone}

another first!

Another perk of cruising...someone is standing ready to make soft-serve ice cream 24 hours a day. We ate A LOT. On the last day at sea, I left the kids at the pool with Orum and brought back 3 ice cream cones. Hazel's eyes were gianormous!!! I think she was in shock that she was going to get one all to herself. No sharing with a parent. It was her first, and it didn't take long for her to figure it out. She did have a couple of shining examples...

I also heard Renée say, "I LOVE when mommy does pool service!" Pool service? She said that like she sits at the pool all day and calls to her butler. We have neither, but points for me still.

complicated.

I just finished this super cute bedding for a set of sisters. I decided that I MUST take it outside to take pictures. It seemed so easy--the bed is only a few yards from the back door, and is easy to take apart/put together.

Got the bed outside and put together. The perfect overcast was gone. The sun was out--on the wrong side of the house. So instead of taking pictures in front of our grungy barn-esque garage doors, I had to turn the bed. Now there's a lovely view of the neighbors littered yard. The wind started blowing. The bedskirt was constantly flying up. I may have broken the bed a little, and I got A LOT of crazy looks from the passing traffic!! My friend even stopped to see what I was doing because she said she could see this bed for blocks down the busy street! It may be bright, but I LOOOOVE it!! And so do my girls...a duplicate set may soon have a home here!

I didn't even attempt to take the crib outside! I've decided that I need a spare bed in the garage just to use for pictures--maybe an iron one.
I mean seriously...those are 2 lucky little girls! My girls' pale pink and white room seems SOOO boring now. I can't wait to hear what they think about it!

st. patrick's day 2010

Another holiday, another hair clip--at least that's what Renée and her friends think. They definitely came out ahead this year. Elijah was left with only green kisses. I had grand plans of sending him to school with green play dough shaped like shamrocks. If only I had started earlier than the morning of. I guess there's always next year, and seeing that I sent the candy in a big ziplock instead of on a cute card, etc. I have a lot to make up for! At this rate Hazel may never make it to school with anything!!
